Our Organization's History

In 2023, UpBeat Alliance was founded by a group of determined young individuals who aimed to tackle critical issues in their community, including the need for youth skill development, insufficient research in the health sector, and the severe effects of climate change on health and gender equality. Their mission was driven by a desire to empower their peers and create positive change in society. Among the founders was a resilient young woman who, despite growing up amidst civil war and facing numerous obstacles, including displacement and limited access to education, pursued a degree in medicine and public health. Her experiences in an IDP camp highlighted the dire state of Somalia's health infrastructure and the urgent need for improvement. Today, UpBeat Alliance stands as a symbol of determination and resilience, continuing to inspire hope and drive progress. The organization's founders, including the remarkable young woman who overcame adversity, are dedicated to breaking down barriers and making a significant impact on the lives of individuals and communities. Their collective efforts focus on addressing the interconnected challenges of youth skill development, health sector research, and the impacts of climate change, while also advocating for gender equality.
